DAILY PLANET SINGER INJURED DURING

COVINA, CALIFORNIA - During a concert last week in Covina, California, Daily Planet lead singer Jesse Butterworth suffered a severely broken ankle and leg after jumping off of a platform.  At the end of the infamous ‘80’s medley’, Jesse ended the segment with a toe touch.  On his way down from the toe touch, Jesse’s right leg did not make it all the way down and his ankle and leg shattered into 6 pieces as it crashed into the stage.

After a week in the hospital, Jesse is awaiting surgery at Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach, California.  He is in a great deal of pain and cannot move without the assistance of several people.  His surgery is scheduled for Wednesday, August 27th.  During the surgery, the doctor will insert 10 screws and a plate into his tibia, fibula and ankle in order to help his leg and ankle heal correctly.  The recovery process will be a slow one and Jesse will probably need the aid of crutches or a cane for many months to come.  Please keep him, his family and Daily Planet in your prayers as this time is a very trying one.  Because of the injury Daily Planet has had to cancel several dates and are unsure of their immediate future.  Unfortunately, Jesse does not have health insurance and is trying to figure out how to deal with the financial burden of hospital bills, surgery bills, and personal bills without being able to work.

If you would like to contribute to a fund that will help Jesse get back on his feet and making music again, please send your contribution to:  Daily Planet, 304 16th St, Old Hickory, TN, 37138.  All checks should be made out to Jesse Butterworth.  --©2003 CCAUTHORITY.COM BREAKING NEWS
