Rhythm Invasion Tour 2004
Wednesday, April 21, 2004
This May, the band Rhythm will be heading overseas with the mission of encouraging the men and women of our armed forces. To leave a lasting impact, after performing each night for 200-500+ soldiers and their families, the band will be giving each in attendence a free Rhythm CD.

The band would like your help in this great cause. For every $10 donated, 4 soldiers receive a free CD. A sticker will be attached to each CD with your church name and website to encourage soldiers to get connected upon returning.

To sponser a CD, visit http://www.rhythmonline.com.

Inpop Records announced today that it has finalized a recording agreement with Paul Colman, former frontman and founding member of Dove Award-winning Aussie group Paul Colman Trio (pc3).

Colman, who announced plans to lead a solo career earlier this month, has already begun an impressive career as the leader of pc3.  The band was named the Gospel Music Association’s New Artist of the Year in 2003 and one of 2002’s Top Ten Breakthrough Artists of the Year by Radio & Records.  The group’s debut project, New Map of the World, received a GRAMMY nomination for Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year and a Dove Award for Pop/Contemporary Album in 2003, along with producing two #1 radio singles and giving the Trio an opening slot on Third Day’s 2002 “Come Together” Tour.

1. Worship Together: I Could Sing of Your Love Forever/Various (Sparrow/WorshipTogether)
2. Almost There/MercyMe (INO)
3. Wonder What’s Next/Chevelle (Integrity/Sony)
4. Stacie Orrico/Stacie Orrico (ForeFront/Virgin)

Sparrow turntable artist DJ Andy Hunter is featured in this month's issue of Remix magazine, discussing his use of the Microsoft Windows 5.1 recording technology and how it connected him with hip-hop legend Grandmaster Flash.

A unique pair, for sure, Hunter is a fresh-faced kid from the UK while Flash is an elder statesman of rap music that emerged from NYC in the early 1980s with a dance floor/MTV hit "The Message." The two met during a DJ summit at the Microsoft headquarters in Seattle, where Flash heard a 5.1 remix of Hunter's debut hit, "Go."

"I was sitting in this room, unsuspecting of what was going to take place until he Play on the CD player," Flash said. "I was like, 'What is this?'"

Grandmaster Flash was so enthused by DJ Andy Hunter's track that he decided to do his own urban remix of the song, featuring an additional rap from his son, J-Flow. Since then, Flash and Hunter have demonstrated other high-tech Microsoft recording gear together at the Digi Lounge in Miami, and they continue to pass recording tips back and forth to each other from their own home studios.

DJ Andy Hunter, who mixes ultra-creative dance music with his strong Christian faith, released his debut album, EXODUS, on Sparrow Records in 2002, and it was soon called "one of the year's ultimate sensory experiences" by RollingStone.com. Cuts from the project have been featured on TV's Alias, in theater previews for The Matrix: Reloaded, and in Xbox and Play Station games. Hunter is scheduled to release a second album later in 2004.
