Jeeves: "This is Jeeves here with Dave, lead-singer for PAX217."

Dave: "Whattup!!"

Jeeves: "To start off, I know you kinda explained it during the show, but what does PAX217 mean? I mean, for the readers here."

Dave: "PAX217...Pax is peace in Latin, and 217 is from Ephesians in the Bible, and it says, 'He came and preached peace to those who were far away and those who are near'. Yeah...it's like our mission statement."

Jeeves: "That's cool. Just, kinda...when you get out there, what's the one..I guess if you could sum it up, the one thing that you want the people to understand from your show, or you want them to leave the show with every night, ya know, that you just kinda pray this happens."

Dave: "I just pray that the Spirit of God would move, and, just to say to the people that there is so many things that God has given us, and so many ways that we can communicate God's love and our ways, the way we do it is through music in a lot of ways. And other people have other talents and gifts, and I think that it's important to just, for us to remember that we've gotta get outside of our...our 'zone', so to speak, or our little world of Christianity, and take it to the nations. And like the Word says to every tribe, tongue and nation, may God's Word, and His love be known...and I think it's easy sometimes to forget about just the simple things like God's peace, and His joy that's everlasting. To be able to share that with people...to be conscious that everywhere we go and every place that we're at; even just by the way we present ourselves; not even with words, necessarily, but just actions, and just our eyes. Christ said that our eyes are the lamp of the body. And that, people can see right into us, and they can see God's love if we let them, and so...Lord help us to be transparent and let others see it, His love."

Jeeves: "That's cool. How long have you guys been together; been touring?"

Dave: "Well, we've been together for quite a long time. We actually started the band when I was 16, and my brother Skwid, the drummer, was almost 12 when he started playing, and we went through a lot of changes, and just kept developing our sound and stuff. In the last two years has really been the core; Jesse and Josh, and Skwid and I...and we've been touring, we started our first national tour with Big Dog Small Fence and Pidgeon John in November, for about a month, and then, this is actually our first major long, lengthy time, out with Bleach and Plankeye and Relient K, and so...it's been a good time, man, We've got two months in and we've got about two months more to go, and we're jumping on with Skillet in May, for a month, so...it's pretty exciting."

Jeeves: "That's awesome. That's gonna be a rad tour."

Dave: "Yeah, it's gonna be great."

Jeeves: "You know...in the years that you guys have been together, in one form or another, is there any life lessons you've learned from being on the road, from being out there?"

Dave: "Yeah man, ya know...I think the major thing about...being on the road can be rough sometimes, it can be draining, it can be real tiring...spiritually, emotionally and physically. Every way. And the main thing that I could share with someone else is just that, as you serve, as you give to God, He's always gonna give back, He's always gonna bless you more than you could imagine. And a lot of times we tend to forget about serving...we wanna receive a lot, and it's good to get fed with God's Word, it's good to go to church, good to do those things, but, you know, just that I know that the band, as we drive during our day and we do a devotional, we do a Bible study or we listen to a teaching or whatever, God always just speaks that...His disciples have to step out in faith, pick up their cross and follow Him, and He'll provide our needs. And that's really... it's an amazing thing. Just don't forget to serve the Lord, ya know. You can't."

Jeeves: "Yeah. like you were saying, it can be very spiritually draining, being on the road so much, you can't always go to church on Sunday and stuff like that. Are there any special steps that you guys take make sure you hold yourselves accountable, on the road?"

Dave: "Yeah, yeah man. Well, we...like I kinda mentioned, we lead each other through a Bible study; right now we've been going through Matthew and just focusing on Christ. And we each take a chapter every day or every other day and we do a Bible study. And then we also listen to a lot of teaching tapes; Bob Coy, pastors us. We go to Calvary Chapel in Laguna Beach, and, uh, we just get our pastor's tapes or whatever, and we study and listen to those a lot, and do devotions...and we spend a quite a bit of time in prayer every day, before the shows, and while we're driving and stuff, just...taking time. It's hard, it is rough, man, I miss church, for sure, but it's cool, man. One that's good about it is it challenges us to say, hey man, you can't get spoon-fed all the time, ya know? It challenges me to get up in the morning and spend my time with the Lord in the Word and prayer, and then go do the show and study with each other, and then pray before the show. And then after the show, go home, or go to wherever we're staying at, and read again, ya know what I mean?"

Jeeves: "Yeah doing it yourself..."

Dave: "Self-discipline, man."

Jeeves: "...Not expecting someone to do it for you."

Dave: "Yeah."

Jeeves: "I guess...kind of a last question; is there any question you've never been asked by anyone doing an interview, that you're kinda wishing, 'I wish they'd ask this question because I've just got a great answer!'?"

Dave: "That's funny, ahh...(pausing)"

Jeeves: "Take your time, it's okay!"

Dave: "Uhh...I can't! Just off of the top of my head...I'm trying to think. I've been asked a lot of questions lately! Umm...I think maybe, just like...maybe a question like..."

Jeeves: "...It doesn't have to be super deep."

Dave: "Yeah, no, no, that's what I'm saying! What I was gonna say was that a lot of times you get asked a lot of the deep questions, which are good, 'cuz you want people to know...like I want people to know what our hearts are about; what are music's about. Who we want to reach...and all of that kinda stuff, But at the same time, ya know, just stuff like...what are you guys into? What do you guys do on the weekend? You know, just stuff that's simple stuff that we all can relate to, or even stuff about our families...or stuff like that. I couldn't even tell you a particular question, really."

Jeeves: "Okay, well, I'll just pick two. Let's see...what's your favorite hobby or sport? Or your pasttime, ya know...when you're kickin' it...?"

Dave: "Ummm...man."

Jeeves: "...mine's chess, so, I mean you can't do any worse."

Dave: "(laughing) Nah, it's all good. Umm...badminton's probably worse, bro. Badminton would be real rough. Umm..I don't know. I really enjoy going to the beach and hanging out and stuff like... not like a surfer or anything but (laughing again)...I'm not the typical California surf kid or whatever, but I really enjoy just hanging at the beach. That's probably one of my favorite places to be...just hanging out."

Jeeves: "Cool. Now, let's see...the second one will be, and the final question will be...umm...if the band could be endorsed by any food company, any food product; what would it be?"

Dave: "Yes! Del Taco, dude!"

Jeeves: "(both laughing) Right on!"

Dave: "Actually, I really want like a co-endorsement; Del Taco and In-And-Out Burger...pretty much the only things we can't find out here(in North Carolina) is like that and Del Taco."

Jeeves: "Welcome to North Carolina! Heh heh..."

Dave: "Yeah man, it's all good."

Jeeves: "Well, that's cool. Thank you very much, and it's been rad. You guys had a great show...and the CD's out now! get it!

Dave: "Get it in stores, y'all."

Jeeves: "Yeah, that's right."
