 The Warehouse Interview

-with Matt Baird

10/25/02

We got the privilege to interview Matt Baird of spoken recently at the Wherehouse. They are an excellent band and they are great guys. I was very
impressed with the actual show that they put on, but I was even more impressed when they practically jumped off the stage and started chatting
with the crowd as soon as they were done. Matt is great to talk to and if you EVER get the chance to go see them try very hard to go. thanks playing
guys and God Bless . . .

Me: We are here with Matt Baird from Spoken at the Wherehouse, Spoken has
been around for seven years now and has had several lineup changes, what are
your feelings on the band as a whole right now?

Matt: I feel like we're starting over, like we are in a good situation. we
are looking for a new record label and doing a lot of touring. There are a
lot of changes but they're good changes.

Me: How would you describe the style of music spoken plays right now?

Matt: You know, just rock and roll . . .

Zach: What would you say are some of your musical influences?

Matt: Bon Jovi, Metallica, right now Hoobastank, Blindside's record just
came out. its not really an influence but its a good record.... A little bit
of everything, we listen to country, rock, just everything.

Me: What are your plans as a band for the future?

Matt: You know we just want to be obedient to God and do what he wants us to
do. If God says we are done tomorrow, we're fine with it. we've seen
thousands of lives changed, our lives have been changed by it. We just want
to share Jesus with people even if its not through spoken, we just want to
share Jesus in our every day live and in our walk. Gosh, the future, we're
going to continue to tour, and continue our search for a record label,
continue writing new music. who knows?

Me: If you could say one thing really quick to someone that hasn't been to a
Wherehouse show what would you say?

Matt: I would say the bands our treated with the utmost respect here, they
are great people to work with, great sound, great lighting, and it makes it
all the more fun. Its a great time.

Me: Cool thanks for coming out and playing.

Matt: Thanks for having us, God bless.
