What do you get when you combine the lead singers
from (arguably) the 4 most influential bands to
ever exist on the fringe of Christian music? The
Lost Dogs. In 1992, something magical happened;
Terry Taylor (Daniel Amos), Derri Daugherty
(the choir), Michael Roe (the 77's), and Gene
Eugene (Adam Again) got together and released,
of all things, an alt-country record. Long before
alt-country became cool. WIth their debut album
'Scenic Routes', the Lost Dogs started
something with a life all it's own, with everyone
contributing, everyone writing, everyone singing.
There are moments in their nine album discography
(more than any of their individual bands have put
out in the same time frame) of country, rock,
blues, pop, and even some island music, making
these records that can appeal to almost anyone.
WIth the passing of Gene Eugene in 2000,
the dogs lost a collaborator, and more
importantly, a friend. The band has pressed on,
recording a tribute to Gene on their next album.
This year, they have officially made Steve
Hindalong (the Choir) the newest Dog.
You owe it to yourself to check this band out.

Trees is available now, at
