 Biography 

In The Beginning>> Ron Cavagnaro started off being inspired by wall-of-guitar driven bands. This drove him to and eagerness to learn the guitar at age 13. Around the same time, Ron also began listening to industrial bands such as Circle of Dust. Frustrated with his inability to create songs with his guitar at that age, Ron began working on composing music with his computer. What emerged was mostly embarassing, dark, quirky lo-fi industrial music under the project name "Seven Vials Full", which is now referred to as SVF.

An Idea Concieved>> Ron had spent hours upon hours alone with his guitar, trying to reach this passion for expression through songs. His brother Mike suggested that he combine the use of guitar and computer composition. Ron scoffed at this idea at first, but when he entertained the idea, he slowly began to realize that he could create a wide sound to intensify his growing song ideas.

The Project Begins>> Ron created the beginning of what was to become The Consolation Project in his first EP, entitled "Ron Cavagnaro: A Drive By Orchard Ave." It consisted of heavily introverted lyrics, orchestrated ideas. For the first time, Ron found a love for creating lush, atmospheric, expansive, layered soundscapes underneath his self-taught guitar mannerisms and vocals.

And So It Continues>> Ron decided that his solo music project would have to be separate from his darker, abstract project, SVF. He decided that it should be named as it was, a project that wraps the listener in layered blankets of sonic textures. He knew how pretentious, self-absorbed, and introverted his solo project became, but felt that somehow, others would understand and perhaps find rest by relating to the esoteric, spiritual lyrics. Hence "The Consolation Project". He considers it to mostly be an effort to uncover the areas left in life that there are no words to express.
