Q&A with author Mark Weber, about his fun-to-read, helpful new book

“Christian Music Makers”

Q: How would you describe your new book, “Christian Music Makers?”

A: After five years of writing about Christian recording artists for magazines, newspapers and websites, I’ve picked out contemporary Christian/gospel artists I think
are worthy of investigating. So, after you read my book with its reviews, interviews and stories, you’ll have a better idea of who and what to buy when you go into a
store filled with discs. My book shares a little about the lives and the music of 70 relevant, current artists.

Q: What makes “Christian Music Makers” special?

A: It’s written for both the Christian music lover, who will discover tidbits they never knew about artists they already listen to and be exposed to new artists they
know nothing about—yet—and for those who know nothing about contemporary Christian and gospel music.

Q: Have you met any of the artists in your book?

A: Quite a few, including Kirk Franklin, John Tesh, Nicole C. Mullen, Kathy Troccoli, Scott Krippayne and Steve Bell, to name a few. I love meeting artists and
finding out what they’re like. Kirk Franklin loves to laugh. Scott Krippayne seems like he cares more about others than himself—a good trait for a Christian artist,
don’t you think?

Q: What will surprise readers most when they read “Christian Music Makers?”

A: I think the personal ‘peace after pain’ stories from artists like Londa Larmond, Tammy Trent, Justin Fox and Bonnie Keen—stories about struggling through
abuse, loss of a loved one, disease and other heartaches--will touch readers’ hearts and ultimately inspire them.

Q: You also include CD reviews?

A: Yes, because I’ve been accumulating hundreds of CDs since 1999, and I wanted to share with readers some of the best from the past few years. That way, after
reading my reviews, they will have an idea of whether or not to invest their time, money and energy into listening to a certain artist.

Q: Why is “Christian Music Makers” available through lulu.com?

A: When I buy books, I usually find and buy them online, using my computer. That’s the new way of shopping. I love Lulu.com because it makes it possible for
anyone, anywhere to buy “Christian Music Makers” anytime, and have it shipped to their door. Bookstores are limited by their location, hours of operation and other
factors. Through lulu.com, my book can be available to Christian music fans from L.A. to New York, Minneapolis to New Orleans and everywhere in between. In
addition, I expect quite a few people from Canada, the U.K., South Africa and Australia to order “Christian Music Makers” through lulu.com/christianmusic.
