I recently interviewed Jon Micah vocalist from
Kutless.  I want to thank him for taking the time out of his busy schedule to answer some questions.  Read on to see what he has to say.

1.  How long have you guys known each other and how
long have you been together as a band?

JM- Jon Micah, Ryan, Kyle and Stu met in 2000 at
college and that fall we were part of a worship band which played on
thursday nights.  Several months later we began performing our own
original material and officially became a band.  James joined the band in
June of 2001.  Ryan,Kyle and James grew up together in Albany, Oregon.

2.  What bands did you grow up listening to and which
     band(s) influenced you the most?

JM- Each individual in the band grew up with a wide
variety of music.  Some of us as pastors kids grew up with many of the

classic Christian groups such as DC Talk, Newsboys, and Audio Adrenaline.

A couple of the guys didn't even get saved until high school, and
therefore the music they grew up listening to was everything from Michael
      Jackson to Limp Bizkit.

3.  The CD was released in September of 2002.  How did you guys feel
when it started to really take off in the past couple of months?  I see
"Your Touch" on station playlists everywhere.

JM-Our CD was first released on July 16, 2002 and it has been selling
very consistently since then.  We feel that God has blessed us greatly

      with its continued success.

4.  Are you still touring?  If so how is it going and what
bands have you been touring with?

JM-Yes we are still touring, we are currently doing a

summer festival run. We have been out for almost a year and half
now with very few breaks.  Tour is going well, we have toured with
the Supertones, Pax 217, Slick Shoes, Audio Adrenaline, Mercy Me,
The Swift and Seven Places.  Not to mention multiple shows with
Switchfoot, The Newsboys, and Thousand Foot Krutch.

5.  How would you describe your sound?

JM-Nu Metal or "Pop" Metal are both common descriptions of our genre.

6.  Have you started writing new material for your next
release yet?  If so are you going to go with the same
sound or experiment with some different areas of music?

JM-Yes we have been writing, and will be in the studio this August
I think we will stretch our boundaries in several areas but I expect the
record to stay true to our sound.  We have learned a lot in the last
year and expect this record to reflect that, but we are not looking to
      reinvent ourselves.

7.  How would you describe one of your live shows and how
does it feel seeing fans walking away from your shows
with a new found interest and Love for the Lord?

JM-Our shows are typically very energetic and hopefully a lot of fun
for everyone there.  Seeing people walk away with newfound interest in
Christ encourages us to continue doing what we are doing.  Our entire
goal is to make a difference in peoples lives and when we accomplish
that it is very encouraging to us.

8.  What and where do you draw inspiration for your lyrics?

JM-Inspiration for all of our lyrics comes from the heart.  They are
issues that we have had on our hearts or have been dealing with
      personally.

9. What is in your CD players right now?

JM-Switchfoot.  We love these guys!!
