Welcome to our annual list of the Best Albums of the year . Each of our top 10 picks were selected in by  their originality, eclecticism, musical growth, talent, and/or message. Check out the ones that sound like they would appeal to you, and see if you agree with us.

Here's the short few that we managed to agree on: (In alphabetical order)

Lassie Foundation
Face Your Fun (2004)

In the past, the band's brainy pop was an almost purely artistic journey. "Face Your Fun" seems to reflect the band's desire for more commercial success. The tunes on this album are much more accessible and the average pop fan will adore these tunes.  These guys continue to consistently release great albums.

MuteMath
Reset Ep (2004)

Great new band, with influences as far reaching as u2, reggae, and just about anything else you can think of. Buy this cd so you can say you had it back when. Because there will be a "back when".

They Sang As They Slew
Get Well (2004)

This is one heck of an explosive set of songs. We have songs with deep lyrics, and instrumentation underlining such depth. No guitar hooks here. Full of music not fit for the dance floor or the mosh pit, or even the coffee house, in my opinion. TSATS belongs in the home, may be in your room. Such an intimate setting is perfect for the intimate music of TSATS

U2
How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb (2004)

Finally, u2 has returned. The real U2. Jangly delayed guitars, great soulful vocals, solid songs. there may not be anything to rival the bands biggest hits, but it is definitely a step back in that direction. If you loved "Joshua Tree," and thought things headed down hill after "Achtung Baby," this cd will make you happy.
